The peoples' party club met in the court house last Saturday evening, and completed the organization and transacted considerable business. I{. L. Kninsdell is president; Jero Gehon. vice president; Arthur Linn, secretary and Asa Forrest jr.. treasurer. The next regular meeting of the club will be next Monday evening. June 27th, at 8 o'clock, at which time an interesting program will be given. Local speakers will participate. The public is invited. The nominees of the Uedlicld convention will be discussed and other matters of general interest, to the public. Turn out everybody. It will do you good.“Only a pup. There is a race track just north of the city and it would bo wise for those who wish to speed their horses to make use of that instead of our most traveled street.‘ The delegates fo the peoples party stale convention left for Red field last Monday morniug, by the way of Sioux Falls, Egan and Woonsocket. E. W. Norton was unable to go on account of thescarsi-ty of help, and J. M. Wahl did not owing to the illness of his wife. With the above exceptions the delegates got off all O. K. Following are the names of the delegates and towiuships represented: Lincoln, A. J. Westbury; Lynn.O. M. Iverson; LaVal-loy, A. Peterson; Grant, Lewis Larson; Brooklyn. A. J. Wimple; Norway, Nels Larson; Canton. J. E. Hotter; Dayton, Ed. Ward well; Highland. Z. Ellis; Springdale, J. M. Bus well; City of Canton, Arthur Linn; at large, Asa Forrest, jr.Chet Dike of Mason City. Iowa, and Diamond Joe, of Brooklyn. N. V.. forma company of entertainers in their dual capacity that will furnish more genuine fun to the square iuch than any two men now traveling. Chet is looking for two more matchless specialties in human form, and when found he will have a “big four that will be world beaters. Diamond Joe is a fair ventriloquist, but he is superior to anybody we have ever heard as an impersonator and mimic. His hogs in the corn with dog attachments, his planing mill, threshing machine, soda water fountain, and many other impersonations, are worth a good admission fee alone. Take your children and ladles. The ability and merit is genuine. Do not fail to see and hear Chet and Joe.It is with no little degree of pleasure that the Leader stales that it is more than pleased with the splendid reformation of Dr. A. G. Noid. who like thousands of other bright men. allowed for a time, the most subtle enemy of lnimaiiity to over rule his best judgment. It is now several months since the doctor finally determined in his own mind that the use of intoxicants was a destroying evil. Dr. Noid lias the best wishes of the Leader and every good citizen of Canton for ills success and happiness.,' Mr. and Mrs. Bern Averill gave a progressive euchre party last Friday uightal their pleasant home on 5th street. A goodly company of ladies aud gentlemen were present to enjoy the hospitality of tlie Averill mansion. Nine tables were occupied aud lone hands were allowed, which had a discouraging elfect on the ambition uf those who got none. O. A. Rudolph and Judge Steiner pre-empted chairs in opposite corners for a long time, and failed jo reach the starting point before the bugle sounded. The company was Coin posed of bright and happy .spirits
