It was jnHt and proper that th* public, generally,|should know what had been done, and what tho friends of tho movement inteuded to do.Col, Mabry, from tho ooinmittoo on subscription and survey, made a very favorablo report, showing a general state of good feeling all along the line through tho various counties extending to Homo, Georgia.Judge Ferrell stated that $150 or $200 would be necessary to defray tho expense of tho survey to the Harris county line. Meeting promptly subscribed $200, the largest ninonut named.Mr. A E Cox. Chairman of committee on right of way of Western nr air-line, reported favorably, showing good feeling and an almost universal desire 'o take stock, and donate the right of way. Of course, there were some few exceptions, but these could bo amicably arranged by purchase or otherwise.Mr. L. L. Hardy, from committee on Eastern or Troup Factory line, made a similar report, stating that qnito a largo amount of stock would be taken on his lino, and tho right-of-way generally given.The following resolutions introduced by Wm. II. Huntley, were unanimously adopted;Whkueah, The citizens of Itoino, Georgia, are making earnest efforts to secure tho building of an a r-lino railroad, direct to La Orange and Columbus, aud have seut out published notice that they will hold a mass ruilrnad meeting, and give a monster barbcnu on the 4th Saturday iu July nnxt; therefore, be it1. Resolved. That the citizens of La Grange and Troup county fully endorse and appreciate the efforts now being made by our Rome friends, to connect LuGrange , and Columbus with a Grand Tnnk Air-Line Hail road.2. Resolved, That tho citiztuis of La Grange and Troup county are in favor ol building tliu proposed air-liue road, aud pledge their hearty support and co-operation to the carrying out and completion of this most important enterprise.3. Resolved, That this meeting appoint delegates to represent La Grange and Troup county, in the convention to be held at Rome, on the 23d of July next; said delegates being authorized to appoint their own alternates, iu case they cannot attend.The Chair then appointed the following committee of delegates to the Rome couveutiou: John FArvtrcv, Wm Trimlde,C M Heard.
