W. Moats last February which includes W i 1-liam Jones of the Jay Gees, Dick Woolams and Bill Sche-ele of the Chardon School Board and Harry Walker and Bob Eldredge from the village council.The council now has the legal aspects of a 21 year lease without charge, arranged with the Chardon School Board and Chardon Village of approximately 45 acres of land, located north - east of school, which includes s k i hill.Preliminary surveys were completed last Saturday and allows for a 654 foot road -way to the parking area from Maple ave., two little league diamonds with future plans including a picnic area and swimming pool.This committee now has $635.00 in their fund from contributions of $500 00 from the Chardon Savings Dank Co., $100.00 from Progress - Research Club. $5.00 from t h e Jaycettes and $10,00 from the Tawankn club.They expect to start work on the roadway this summer and complete the little diamonds with a goal of 196 for completing the whole pro -Ject,Tuesday evening Mrs. Clifford Wedge and William Jones were named to serve on the nominating commit -tee and Wallace King and E. E. Johnson Jr., to work on a charter.The Park Development Co Committee will again meet July 5, in the Village club rooms, and all interested residents are asked to attend. The meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m.Evelyn Skiba Heads Democratic ClubMrs. Evelyn Skiba of Ham-bden was elected president of Geauga County Federated Women's Democratic Club, Wednesday. June 15, at their last meeting at the home of Mrs. Louis Rcbusky hi Chardon,Others elected to office for the coming year were: Mrs, Beverly Murray of Chardon, vice - president: Mrs, Doris Meyer of Chardon, secretary: and Mrs. Rose M. Taddeo, democratic candidate for County Recorder, was elected as treasurer,Mrs. Ruth Baker will be hostess to the group when they meet at her home July 20.
