Friday's Storm Had Many of the characteristica of a Tornado. The storm last Friday had many of the characteristics of a tornado. A very little more power would have made it a very destructive visitor. As it was there a were two or three hun dred trees blown down in this city alone. Part of the roof at the water works was carried away, while two sheds and a smoke-stack went down at Holston’s factory. The sheds at Crow’s factory were badly shaken up, while the main factory could not have stood much more pressure. A large door was blown from its fastenings at the Linthicum-Schlosser factory and one of the workmen nar rowly escaped being crushed by it. A great many sheds and out-houses in the south part of the city were blown over. The people may be thankful then the gale was no worse than it was. We narrowly escaped such a storm as read about in the West.
