Mr. Davis was born in Lincoln county, in what is now the State of Maine, in 1793, enlisted in the Fourth U. S. Infantry in 1812, and served through the war; was discharged in Ohio where his regiment then was. in 1815, and located on Duck Creek, where he has since resided.
