Eureka woman killed in early morning gunfireEUREKA — A young Eureka woman, was .shot to death. and tier sister critically wounded when a gunman opened fire early this morning in a bouse on the 2300 block of A Street.The1 'victim,. Lorraine .Sue Diaz,. .24, was staying at tbe borne of her sister when her estranged husband, Alejandro Martinez Diaz, 26, reportedly confronted the sisters and started firing, said Murl Harpham, captain in charge of investigations for the Eureka Police Department.The sister, Lorene K. Kester, 25, was shot in the chest and was in stable condition this morning in tbe intensive care unit of St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka.Police found Lorraine Diaz dead when they arrived at the scene shortly after 1:30 a.m. today, Har-phamaidA countywide all-points bulletin has been issued for Diaz, whose car has been impounded by the EPD. Diaz may be on foot, Harnham said.Harpham described Diaz as 5 feet 6 tall.
