J7U ii. on cnum.CHARLIE’S' BAIT TACKLE, LINDENHURST: Owner John Schaeffer and Mrs. S. boated seven fluke to 6V2 lbs. drifting the Sore Thumb to Democrat Point using flukeslayers and live killies. “Old Nine Finger Jake” of the Squaw Island Fishing Club weighed in four striped bass from 32 to 43 lbs. 1 oz. even after the sinkers were taken out, said John. Capt. Goerge Mussler of the My Dad with guests Bob and Betty Castellani aboard, caught 11 fluke and 25 throwbacks drifting the inlet east bar buoys 2 and 4. On another trip with Paul Bengen and family of Dix Hills aboard, 22 keeper fluke to 5 lbs. were caught. Mrs. Minni Martens of Lindenhurst boated a 6V2 lb. state channel fluke, and Billy Petersen scaled a 3 lb. 4 oz. fluke for Squaw Island. There are plenty of blacks on the Kismet reef and Charlie has the fiddler crab bait to catch them.
