LOOKING SOUTH AT the new U.S. 73 cut south of Atchison where earthmoving equipment is quickly turning pasture into roadway for the new route. Kansas Highway Commission officials say the grading is 20 per cent complete on this section of the route south to the city limits. No date for completion has been set. -- Globe photo.
