Laramie School Holds Graduation CeremoniesGraduation ceremonies were held for 122 graduates at the Laramie School, District 142, Wednesday, June 7.The processional was played by the Forest Ridge Band with the invocation given by the Rev. William Sch-roeder of the Calvary Baptist Church, Oak Forest.Steven Sarovich was the master of ceremonies and words of welcome were given by Nancy Kieta. A clarinet solo was presented by Peter Sawicki.Mrs. Geraldine Kerkstra, principal, presented the Scholarship Awards to the following students: FlorisCobb; Cathy Gingrich; Joseph Krol; William Linn; Jacqueline Maslan; Steven Young; and Peter Zebrow-ski.A cornet solo was given by Illona Reinke. Musical accompaniment was provided by Miss Jean Polachek.Patrol Awards were presented to: Robert Flassig; Patricia Vasilauskis and Randall Wahlert. These were awarded by James Paul, school board member.The Woodwinds Trio” presented a selection by Faber. These students are: Laurel Dieskow; Judy Edg-ren and Karen Hamill.Mrs. Kerkstra awardedpin for Special Academic Honors to Laurel Dieskow, Judy Edgren, Nancy Kieta, Roxanne Reynolds, William Richardson and Steven Sarovich.Lee R. Foster, superintendent, spoke to the graduates and with Frank Smith, president of the school board, presented the diplomas.The winners of the 1967 American Legion Awards, Midlothian Post 591 were: Lori Foss and Steve Sarovich, first place medal winners; Rae Ann Davis and Philip Jordan, second place certificate winners. These were presented by the Commander of the Post and members, Ernest Johnson and Elmer Keebler.Words of farewell were given by Laurel Dieskow and the Laramie Class Song ended the program.
