Calvin Cory, who is well known in Reno despite the fact that he lives in Las Vegas, is now in Eu rope to study the ECA program at first hand. He has been appointed counsel for the joint congressional committee on foreign economic co operation. Mr. Cory, who is a recent addi tion to the Nevada bar and a mem ber of the law firm of Bryan and Cory in Las Vegas, left Washing ton, D. C., last week and landed in Paris on Thursday. There he will spend some time in the office of Averill Harriman, U. S. special ECA representative, and will then go to the Bizone area in Germany and other sections where the ECA program is being carried on. Mr. Cory, who was a bill drafter for the last legislature, has been prominent in the Democratic party in Nevada, and will be gone on this assignment for about two months. His family will live in Washington during his absence.
