HIGHWAY ♦Details Are Worked Out And Project Will Cost The City NothingA PUBLIC WORKS JOBFunds To Be Available From Industrial Bill Passed Yesterday By SenatePlans for the construction of a free highway bridge across the Missouri river at Atchison were announced today. Provid-j ing state funds are available from the Kansas and Missouri highway commissions, and also federal funds, construction of such a bridge will be started within the next several months.A committee ot prominent Atchison men have been engaged quietly dur- , ing the last few weeks working out the plans made known today. Atchi- ! son’s city commissioners approved of the idea and passed an ordinance authorizing and directing Mayor Al- j ben. H. Lehman and Miss Nelle Blythe, city clerk, to enter into an agreement with bridge engineers of St. Louis for the purpose of making preliminary plans and estimates of the cost of a bridge across the river h :The ordinance is published on another page in today's issue of Tiv Globe and the contract with the engineers will be signed immediately after the publication.
