The new walk to be laid on the South street side of the M. E. church property will be a great improvement. A vaudeville is given every night in the Renwick Park theater by a very good com pany. The theater will be open all summer with a weekly change of company and program. We have it on the authority of Prof Westfall that the results of the regents examinations have been exceedingly satisfactory so far as the papers have been ex amined. We hope to give a full report next week Last Tuesday was pretty tough on the class taking re gents. It was hot and the room was packed, conditions not con clusive of concentration of thoughts on the subject before them, too much time lost in wip ing the heated brow. John Hartley was in town Thursday and expressed himself as much pleased at the progress on the silk mull, he compliment ed the contractor on both speed and the character of the work The machinery will be on hand for installation just as soon as the building is finished. On hundred looms will be put in at once which calls for about 75 hands or possibly more, depend ing somewhat on the proficiency of the weavers. Last Tuesday afternoon, or rather evening, the south por tion of the county was visited by a severe thunder storm. The track of the storm could be plainly followed by observer: here and at one time it looked as if we would catch at least a portion of it but it passed to the south and east Ithaca suffered considerable damage The Fall Creek school house was struck by lightning and a portion of the slate roof torn off, part of the Percy Field fence was blown down, plate glass windows were broken, street show cases were upset and broken and the street car service interrupted
