Area Students Among College GraduatesFour area students were among the 181 members of the 116th graduating class of Albany Business College.The commencement exercises were held June 9 at Chancellors Hall The two students receiving degrees were: Gary DeAngelo. of South Glens Falls and Mrs. Jacqueline Beers Williford, of Schroon I^ake.Charles Chapman of Fort Edward and Miss Cynthia Miller of South Glens Falls both received diplomas.Two area students were graduated June 9 from Bryant College, Smithfield, R.I , during its 110th commencement John Hogan, son of the late Mr and Mrs. Dalton T. Hogan of Fort Edward, received a BS degree in business administration He was a member of the dean's list. Delta Mu Delta, the national honor society inbusiness administration; Omicron Delta Epsilon; economics honor society; summa cum laude.Hogan, a graduate of Fort Edward High School, has accepted a position in the Office of Management and Budget at Brown University.He and his wife. Anne Lalor Hogan reside at 453 Angell St., Providence, R.I.liawTence Joseph Chaplek, son of Mr and Mrs. Joseph Chaplek, 8 Woodlawn Ave., South Glens Falls, received a BS degree in business administration.Chaplek, a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Glens Falls, was vice president of the Investment Club at Bryant.Sir George Williams he studied under such internationally known artists as Jean Coguin, Dennis Jones, Barry Wain-wright, Irene Whittome, Anne Kehane and Christopher Gabriel-Lacki.He was student teaching assistant in design 1971-72 and in sculpture and graphics 1972-73.June 1973 graduate of Houghton College, has been named to the dean’s list for the second semester.She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas S. Condit Award.Miss Earl has accepted a position at Gardner, Mass., teaching handicapped children and will begin in September.Thomas C. Remington, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Remington, 11 First Ave., Warrensburgh graduated May-27 from State University of New York Agricultural and Technical College at Morrisville.Remington was enrolled in the Engineering Technologies Division and received an AAS degree in automotive technology.He was named to the dean’s list for the final semester.Michael David Freebern, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth H. Freebern of Hudson Falls, was one of 865 students who received bachelor’s degrees at the 203rd commencement exercises of Dartmount College, N.H., on June 10.Freebern, a 1970 graduate of Hudson Falls High School, was graduated with high honors and with high distinction in his major subject religion.Miss Mary A. Heed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Heed, 853 Ethan Allen St., Fort Edward, was graduated cum laude with a BA degree in sociology from State University College at New Paltz.A 1969 graduate of Hudson Falls High School, Miss Heed will be teaching at the Beaumont School in Liberty in the fall.Alexander Paris Robertson of 30 Fort Amherst Road, Clens Falls, received an AB degree June 14 at the 322nd commencement of Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass.Miss Mary McPhillips, a sophomore at Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 1973 semester.She is the daughter of Mrs. Michael McPhillips of 7 Hunter St., Glens Falls.Stephen Shanahan, of 5 Cronin Road, Glens Falls, and a history major, was named toStephen G. Collyer, son of Mrs. Muriel M. Collyer and the late George C. Lamos, aLawrence L. Hoffis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hoffis, 281 Warren St., Glens Falls, was graduated with honors June 9 at Rochester Institute of Technology’s 88th commencement exercises.Hoffis received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering technology.He is a 1968 graduate of Glens Falls High School and received an associate in applied science degree in 1970 from Hudson Valley Community College.Frederick S. Stannard, son of Mrs. Gloria V. Stannard of Ottawa St., Lake George and Frederick E. Stannard of Hammond St., Lake George, received an associate in applied science degree during May commencement exercises at Hudson Valley Community College, Troy.Stannard is a graduate of Lake George High School and plans to continue his education. Wallace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Wallace, 7874 Merritt Road, South Glens Falls, has been named to the dean’s list at Ripon College for the second semester.Miss Wallace is affiliated with Kappa Theta, a local sorority, and is a member of the Ripon College band.Ixmis C. Gagliano received his AAS degree in business administration June 9 at Rochester Institute of Technology.Gagliano is continuing his stuides this summer at RIT.He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ixmsi J. Gagliano, 51 Kensington Road, Glens Falls.David Cole, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Cole, East Shore Drive, Lake George, received his BS degree in geology May 27 from the State University of New York at Cortland.Cole will continue his studies at Penn State University where he has been granted a teaching assistantship.He and his wife, the former Miss Vicki Mills, reside at the home of his parents.Miss Mary Patricia Stafford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stafford, 90 Montcalm St., Lake George, completed her sophomore year with a 4.0 average during her fourth semester at State University College of New York at Plattsburgh.Miss Stafford is majoring in elementary education.
