Mrs. Jim Hanks heads the new organization. 25 YEARS AGO _ Jane 21, 1941 The U.S. Navy Department has announced that the submarine 0-9, carrying two officers and 31 men in routine practice dives off the isle of Shoals near Portsmouth, N.H., has been located on the bottom of the ocean at a depth of 440 feet. The police chief points out that laying ino the municipal hotel is not sufficient punishment for the class of characters usually entertained in the jail. Mrs. J. A. Kemp entertained the young ladies of her Sunday school-class of the Presbyterian Church with a theatre party. The Billie Burke film ‘Peggy’ at the Majes tic was the attraction visited, with a supper course at Fell's after the show. Mrs. Annie Talley Hood entertained at Kemp Korth in honor of her niece Miss Kate Salmon Prince, 42 being the diversion of the morning.
