conditions at the Adair house. Lawrence and Violet Adair were given a preliminary hearing be fore George Woolford, justice of the peace, Showlow, last Sat urday. Mrs. Adair later signed a confession for the county at torney. Clem Adair and A. E. Harrell were given hearings before Unit ed States Commissioner, A. G. McCloskey, and each held to ans wer charges of liquor sales on two counts, to Indians. Evidence showed that one of the Apache Indians to whom liquor was sold was only 13 years of age. Lawrence Adair has a prior Winslow, Arizona Friday, June 21, 1946 criminal record, and is also await ing trial before the federal court on charges of selling liquors to Indians. A. E. Harrell also has a crimi nal record and only recently re turned to visit the Adairs. Clem Adair, the husband, has been confined to a hospital on two occasions with epilepsy and psychosis.
