The Chinese have much in common with the American Negro, according to Liu Liang-Mo, YMCA secretary who is now studying at the University of Pennsylvania. However, whereas the Negro has been suffering from exploitation for 400 years, the Chinese have been under the foot of the overlords for thousands of years. Mr. Mo was speaking to a small group at Lacey Thurman Branch YWCA Satur day afternoon. The Chinese, according to Mo, formerly believed that this ex ploitation was faith and that there was nothing to be done about it. But this belief has been submerged under the changing ideas of a younger generation—a generation which no longer turns the left cheeks when he has been slapped on the right. The speaker, while explaining that the United States and England had agreed to give material aid to the Chinese in their struggle against imperialistic Japan, the guns and war armament has not arrived in sufficient amount to aid the struggling Chinese army. At the same time the aid given China by the United States is off set, he said, by the sale of scrap iron and oil to the Japanese, Jap anese bombers, made ed of this same scrap iron and burn the gasoline from the Unis States, fly over and bomb the medical sup plies sent to China.
