EllisPledging ourselves to the support of all things which we conceive to be for the best interests, moral and commercial, of the City of Ogden, State of Utah, and profiting by the unvarying experience of other cities and states, We, the undersigned citizens of Ogden, forming the Manufacturers’ and Business Men’s Association of Ogden, hereby declare that we are unfavorable to the adoption of prohibition in this City, for the reason that all past experience proves irrefutably that prohibition is invariably followed by a reign of immorality and evil worse than that which it seeks to suppress. We further record ourselves as emphatically in favor cl law enforcement, proper restrictions and positive regulations, which tend to eliminate the evils now complained of, and we pledge ourselves to lend ourunited and organized efforts in this direction.M.
