The game of baseball between Thomasville and Valdosta was called off yesterday on account of rain. It is proposed to play it next week. .. Mr. McKinnon closed the tax books yesterday. Resolutions of Respect. Whereas it has pleased Almighty God to take from our midst our beloved sister, Sophie Bouchelle, therefore be it Resolved, let, That the Wynp Missionary Society has lost one of the most consecrated members, while she was situated so that she could not be with us at a good many meetings, yet we knew her heart was in the work and we had her earnest prayers. Resolved, 20d, That we bow in submission to His will and thank our heavenly Father for such a life among us, that we use her life as a living monument constantly be fore us. Resolved, 3rd, That we tender our heartfelt sympathy to her de voted family, and pray that God will bless each one of them in this great afflction. Resolved, 4th. That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family, a copy to the Times-En terprise, and a blank page be in scribed on the minutes of this so ciety to her memory. Avnie Fuller, Mattie Evana, Avnie Mebane It Was a Success. We are pleased to learn that the ladies of the Methodist church realized quite a snug sum from their ice cream festival on Thurs day evening. Mr. Sampson gen erously gave them the use of his new ice cream parlor and furnish ed the cream free. This generous action on the part of Mr. Samp son is very much appreciated by the ladies. Their next festival will be held in the court house square. It will probably be held in a couple of Weeks. Roll of Teachers in Public Schools § The Board of Education is pre paring for a successful year for the Percy schools of Thomasville for 1902- The following well known edu cators will be in charge: J.C. Jones, Kittie Hamilton. The Board of Education asks for and should receive the hearty and earnest cooperation of parents in making the public schools a pronounced success.
