Bishop Charles A. Salalka was the principal concclebrant of the funeral Mass.FR. HALE was a native of Franklin Mine, attended local grade and junior high schools, and Hancock Central High.He was in his fourth year at Michigan Tech, where he look chemical engineering and pre - med courses, when he entered studies for the priesthood.At )ordan College, Menominee, he took an accelerated course in Latin, and taught mathematics. Entering St. Paul (MN) Seminary in the Fall of 1942, he completed six years of training in less than five, andCIn |une, 1954, he was named pastor of his home parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Franklin Mine, and Dollar Bay.PASTOR OF St. Andrew’s of Nahma (1958 62) he was on a sick leave, then named to Holy Rosary parish. Lake Linden (1963), and St. Rita’s Trenary (1966) before going to Hubbcll, where the Dollar Bay parish was again his mission.SURVIVING are three sisters, Anne (Mrs. Raymond Trcbilcock of Coldwater), Mary (Mrs. James Rexlock of Midland) and Sophia (Mrs. Charles Ferries of Houghton); and a brother, Harry, of Detroit.handled arrangements. Burialwas in the family plot in the Forest Hill cemetery.FR. HALE was active in civic affairs, including the Torch Lake Chamber of Commerce, Senior Citizens Housing, the Knights of Columbus and the Michigan Tech Alumni Assn.He is a former president of the Copper Country Clergy Council.was ordained May 31,1947 by Bishop John G.
