KEITH CONYERS FATALLY INJURED LATE SATUR DAY AFTERNOON Last rites will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 for Keith Allan Conyers, 12, who fell 70 feet to his death from the Big Four rail road arch over Big Walnut creek late Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. The youngster, a popular car rier boy for The Daily Banner, delivered his papers and then rode his bicycle to the bridge, a mile and a half west of the city. He was accompanied by Jerry Nelson, also 12. Young Nelson said they were walking along the railroad span to get a better view of the creek below when Keith lost his footing and plunged to the rocks 70 feet below them. Jerry ran to the end of the bridge and down to the spot where Keith lay and discovering that he could not talk, he then ran to the home of his uncle, Francis Nelson. Mr. Nelson tele phoned the boy's mother, Mrs. Glee Wright Conyers, who drove the family car out West Colum bia street. She was met by Rus sell King, who had been fishing near the scene of the accident. Hearing a moan, he had investi gated and found the boy and had picked him up and started for his car. Mrs. Conyers took her son to the Putnam county hospital. He was then transferred to Rector’s ambulance and was en route to the Methodist hospital in Indi anapolis when he passed away. Death was due to a fractured skull. He was a Boy Scout and a member of the Baptist Church Sunday school children's class. He would have been a pupil in Greencastle Junior High School next fall. His father, Lloyd Conyers, is a partsman for a Greencastle auto parts firm. Survivors, besides the parents, include a brother, Howard; a sister, Karen; and the grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Howard and Mr. and Mrs. William O'Neal, all of Greencastle.
