Wallau and his estimable helpmeet celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary tomorrow. The Wal-laus are not only among the best known but among the most valuable citizens. Mr. Wallau as councilman and as mayor and again as councilman rendered this city much valuable service. As a contractor and builder he contributed no little to the architectural beauty of the city. His efforts as a city official is his best known work. He may not have always been right but he was always honest and sincere and courageous. Defeat as well as victory found him always fighting hard for his ideals never surrendering. In his success achieved only after years of struggle he was ably assisted by the good woman who knelt at the alter with him fifty years ago promising to share his sorrows and his triumphs, his success and his failure, riches or poverty in sickness and in health.Tomorrow, surrounded by children and grandchildren, They will look back, in restrospection over the half century of their union with satisfaction. They have been valuable to the community in which they have resided. It is a better place because of them. The Tribune joins with their friends in -wishing them many more years of bliss, happiness and contentment.(BoyGoldc
