Spencer Cor. Greensboro News, 17th. It is seldom that a mayor resigns but this happened in East Spencer today when Mayor H. J. Peeler vaca ted the executive office of the town and moved his family to Kannapolis, where he had been elected superin tendent of schools. In addition to being mayor Prof. Peeler had also been the successful principal of the East Spencer school for four years, which place he also resigned. At the same time he sent in his resignation as keeper of vital statistics and man ager of the Woodmen of the World. At Kannapolis Mr. Peeler will have charge of three schools, one in Row an, one in Cabarrus and a colored school, the number of pupils aggre gating 1,400.
