EXCITING FINISHES IN THE RACES ON SATURDAY. There were plenty of exciting finishes to the races held by the Brooklands Automobile Racing Club at the Ascot Saturday meeting. There was a crowd of some thousands, including many of our Colonial visitors. Jack Johnson, the famous pugilist, who is a keen motorist, was among those interested in the proceedings, although he seemed to show a marked preference for examining the mechanism of different machines as against watching the racing. There were the largest fields yet seen this season for the car events. There was an exceptionally fine ending to the June Sprint Handicap, which was won by Mr. J. E. Lambie’s 32.4 Bedford, and 400 yards would have covered the seven competitors when finishing. Details :— 2.0 p.m.—The JUNE PRIVATE COMPETITORS’ HANDI CAP.
