Thecommittoe in charge of the workof raising a subscription fund in Georgetown for tho purposo of oiecting a monument over the grove oi Lieut. Gabriel Marion has done no work as yet. It would be a reproach to tho community to let the matter drop so ingloriouely, and it is hoped that the members of tne committee will proceed at onco to carry out their instructions. The committee is requested to meet at The Enquireroftlco at 10 o’clock to-morrow morning for consultation. The Georgetown committee is composed of Moss. T. P. Bailoy, J. B. Stoele and Walter Hazard. The other committeemen are Dr. J. W. Folk,J. Z. McConnell, D.D. lthem, Dr. J. R. Sparkman, H. D. Munnerlyn and F. W. Lachicotte. So far as is known, Dr. J. R. Sparkman is the only member of tho committee who has solicited subscriptions. Tho other members are urged to begin work as soon as possible.
