“LINCOLN W1UE AWAKES.”The Wide Awakes of this city met, pursuant to adjournment, at the Sons of Malta Hall on last evening- After the transaction of the»j regular business of the evening* the company * proceeded to drill under the command of CapL Humphrey. A communication from the original Hartford Wide Awakes was received, and it furnished much in formation as to the mode of working adopted iu the eastern States.The Wide Awake movement will undoubtedly play an important part in the coming campaign, and we hope the young men connected with the enterprise will be fully sustained by word and deed in their enterprise.— i Wo shall take occasion hereafter *o refer more particularly to the operation of the Connecticut Wide Awakes. Meanwhile we will only i state that if energetically carried out. the measures lo bo adopted will have an important bearing upon the results of the elections.Patriotic—In all directions the people are preparing to celebrate the coming 4th of July.
