By BRIAN LIVINGSTON Staff writer A call to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office may turn out to be the latest clue in the deadly Moss country store robbery June According to Jasper County Sheriff Kenneth Cross, a gold 1998 Nissan Altima, matching the description of the one involved in the robbery of Brady’s Country Store, which ended in the shooting death of Marty Brady, was found on a road across from Robinson Sales on Sharon Road Friday after noon. The car, which apparently was intentionally rammed into a steel gate and set on fire, was not completely burned out. “Whoever tried to burn the car didn’t do a very good job of it,’ Cross said this morning. “There was an item or two found in the car that leads us to believe this may be the car we’ve been searching for.” Cross wouldn’t say what those items were but did say Mississippi State Crime Lab per sonnel were en route this morn ing to process the car and search for more clues. The car was discovered by a Jones County resident who reported the finding. Two JCSO investigators were in the area, and after inspecting the vehicle, called in Jasper County law enforcement for verification. “We feel really good about the possibilities this find holds,” Cross said. ““We’ll see what the crime lab people can come up with.”
