Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schoon took their grandson, Gary Ze man, to his home in Laurens Sunday evening after spending the weekend with his grandpar ents. Mrs. Henry Aden and Miss Mathilda Behrends visited their sister, Miss Minnie Behrends, at the Sunny Knoll Rest Home at Rockwell City June 11 to help her observe her birthday. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Moeller were Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ridout of Eldora and Mrs. Annabelle Ostheimer of Town Falls. Friday and Saturday house guests of the Robert Adens were Mr. and Mrs. James Col lins of Lost Island and Rita Nichols of Algona. Added sup per guests Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Schanko of Tucson, Ariz. Saturday dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nichols and family of Algona. The birthdays of Mrs. Collins and Sherri Aden were observed. Pastor Richard Buchholz of St. Paul Lutheran, Pastor Her old Heupel, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Peters, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. John Janssen of St. John Lu theran, Lizard Twp., left Sun day afternoon to attend the Town District Convention at Waverly. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schoon of St. Paul Lutheran left Monday morning to attend the convention. Sharon Isaacson of Moline, Il., came Wednesday of last week to spend a couple weeks with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Booge. Mr. and Mrs. Claus Van Hovern were Sunday dinner guests of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Point and family. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mur man attended the wedding and reception Saturday afternoon of Mary Ann Kirby and Thomas Burns at Gilmore City. Claus VanHoveln visited Hen ry VanHoveln and Mrs. Anna Wessels at Sunset Hill Manor at Rolfe Friday afternoon. Mrs. Hattie Wiegert attended a family picnic Sunday at Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. John Habben were Sunday evening callers in the Harold Larson home. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Engel and boys spent Sunday evening in the Alvin Hartman home. Mrs. Robert Tollakson and girls of Hampton and DeAnn Olson of Pocahontas were Satur day coffee guests in the Andrew Murman home. Candice Tollak son was an Saturday overnight guest in the Murman home. Mr. and Mrs. Anneus Mur attending classes at Cedar Falls, spent the weekend with her family. Mr. and Mrs. Anneus Mur man were Sunday evening call ers in the Herman Murman home. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hartman were visitors Monday evening of last week in the Russell Bishop home at Webster City. The Slim For Him Club met June 8 with 8 members pre sent. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Muenzen tay and family of Hull were Sunday visitors in the parental Ray Wessels home. Douglas Muenzenmay stayed for a long er visit with his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Albers of Eagle Butte, S. D. were Fri day overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wessels and Rita. They visited Mrs. Anna Wessels at Sunset Hill Manor at Rolfe on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dickens of Springfield, Md., are visitors this week in the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Beneke. Mrs. Dickens is the former Arlene Boozell and a niece of the Benekes. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Buenting joined Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kimmons and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rounds and Vicki of Le high for supper Friday night at the Starlite Village Restau rant. The birthday of Mrs. Kimmons was observed. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Swanson were Sunday dinner guests of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Swanson, and Tammy at Lau rens. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Siebels and Mrs. Emma Kruse were Sunday afternoon and evening visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Her man Siebels and family at Fort Dodge. Mrs. Vern Metzger, Mrs. Homer Coffen and Clint, Mrs. Alvin Hartman and girls and Mrs. Harold Francis and girls were visitors Tuesday afternoon of last week of Mrs. Kenneth Ricklefs and Jeff at Gilmore City. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Smith and children of Spencer, In diana were callers Monday of last week in the Oscar Butcher and Daryl Butcher homes. Mrs. Smith is a niece of Mrs. Oscar Butcher. Mr. and Mrs. Del Poldberg and family attended the wed ding of Mr. Poldberg’s niece, Patrice Poldberg, and Ed Smith June 6 at Vinton. They return ed home Sunday. Mrs. Wm. Saathoff and Mrs. Robert Poppinga were guests when Mrs. Hattie Abrahamson entertained the S. C. 500 card club Wednesday afternoon of last week. High score prize went to Mrs. Robert Poppinga, low to Mrs. Herman Peterson, and Mrs. Christine Eichelberger received the 9 bid prize. Mrs. Abrahamson served lunch at the close of the afternoon. A house guest of Pastor and Mrs. Herold Heupel and family is Mrs. Heupel’s mother, Mrs. Pauline Birkmaier of Hebron, N. D. Pastor and Mrs. Richard Buchholz and family went to Dubuque Friday to visit Mrs. Buchholz’ mother, Mrs. Chris tine Frederick. Pastor Buchholz returned home Friday evening. Mrs. Buchholz and children re mained for a longer visit. Mrs. Irene Collins entered Pocahontas Community Hos pital June 7 as a medical pati ent. Mike and Pat Ellison of Eagle Grove are visiting their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Morrill, while their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Ellison, are in Tlinois. The Mary Martha circle of St. Paul Lutheran met Tues day afternoon, June 9, in the church parlors with 13 members attending. The Bible study was led by Mrs. John Helmers and business meeting was conduct ed by Mrs. Ray Wessels. It was decided the circle would go to Sunset Hill Manor at Rolfe for the July meeting. A card was signed by the members for Miss Minnie Behrends who is a pati ent at the Sunny Knoll Rest Home at Rockwell City and whose birthday was June 11. Lunch was served by Mrs. Frank Widlund and Mrs. Otto Siefken. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Engel attended the annual German Mutual Insurance Co. supper at the Starlite Village Resturant at Fort Dodge Tuesday of last week. Mrs. Mary Wenger of Manson was a Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Swartzen- SEE as Mrs. Elmer Jensen and Mrs. Minnie Guderian of Gilmore City spent Sunday even ing in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Krie.
