Vows PledgedA glowing candle tree, entwined with miniature white carnations and sterling roses with pedestals of greenery, centered with white doves, graced the altar of the First United Methodist Church, Farmington, New Mexico for the formal marriage of Miss Cynthia Helen Watson and William Claude Wescott at four o'clock, Saturday afternoon, June 7. Rev. Hollis Shook officiated at the double ring ceremony.Wedding music was presented by Mr. 1 erde Ogren at the organ, accompanying Miss Judy James of Hamilton, Texas, in selections of Oh, Blessed Wedding Day, Ava Maria and 'ITe lord's Prayer.Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Joe G. Watson, 1217 Brentwood Circle, Farmington, N, M. and the bridegroom is the son of Mr and Mrs. l.W, Wescott, Rt. 1, Seminole, Texas.Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely when wearing a gown of white silk organza, fashioned with a funnel neckline, enriched with Venice lace. The lace continued on the empire bodice bell sleeves and the A-line skirt. Completing the gown was a full chapel train, edged with Venice lace. Her illusion headdress was secured to peau de soie |*etals, lavished with pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of sterling roses, surrounding an orchid.Miss Zetta Douglass of Farmington, N. M,, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Misses Michael Malone, Farmington, N.M. and Jo Ellen Duncan, Pam pa, Texas. They were attired in floor-length gowns of lavender silk peau crepe and Venice lace, fashioned with an empire waist and full skirts. Their headdresses were of net and peau de soie and they carried nosegays of white carnations and sterling roses.Debby and Candace Ferguson, Artesia, N.M., the candle lighters, wore orchid floor length dotted Swiss gowns,fashioned with a scoop neckline and long puff sleeves. Their headbands were of white carnations.Best man was John Curry of Van Horn, Texas. Groomsmen and serving as ushers were Gene Braun, bother-in-law of the bridegroom of San Antonio, and Tini Watson, brother of the bride.The bride's mother wore an ivory silk ensemble with matching accessories and a white carnation corsage. The bridegroom's mother cho6e a two piece teal blue ensemble with beige accessories. Her corsage was of white carnations.The reception was held in the home of the bride's parents. The bride's table was laid with a carpet length white satin cloth with an overlay of illusion and was centered with an arrangement of white carnations and sterling roses in a crystal compote.
