Sudden flood Damages Store1“Cloudburst” Pushes The San Domingo Far Over Banks; Grocery Stock SuffersThe usually quiet little Sando-mingo Creek which runs through fields and back yards on the northern edge of the Borough, and probably unknown to exist by half the town’s population, went on a rampage early Saturday morning, and caused considerable damage.Its flood stage which was reached about 6 o’clock Saturday morning was higher than it was ever known to have been before, all because of a cloudburst in the vicinity of Half-ville, close to where the little stream has its source.The greatest damage was caused at the Jerry Adams store, where grocery stock in his cellar 'was submerged and ruined. Men worked all day Saturday getting the stoek out of the basement and cleaning it off with hose and water, salvaging that which was worth keeping.Borough firemen pumped the water from his and several other cellars in that vicinity.(Continued on Page 12)
