WEST POINT.Three Men J*erton»ly Injured »»• a Run-atvny Teat in.West Point, June 17.—At half-past seven o'clock this morning, as Mr. lt;iunther, a brother of ex-Mayor O unther. of New York city, and Henry Clark were proceeding to the steamlaoat landing in a Carriage, the horses took fright in front of the cavalry stables and dashed off at a fearful rate downthe steep road leading to the river. On reaching the steam!oat dock the vehicle was overturned. Clark managed to jump out, but Gunther was thrown violently to the ground. The animals continued theirmad course, and went into the river with the carnage and driver, Stephen Mandigo, who was rescued. 1’he horses and carriage, valued at $30,000, disappeared. Clark was very severely bruised about the head, aod Gunther's right arm is badly injured, ami he suffers intensely from the shock. The driver sustained a severe scalp wound, and it is feared he is seriously injured.
