More Players Are Active This Year Than Before—Tourna ment in September. In spite of the hot weather the members of the Muskoges Tennis ca sociation are more active than usual. Rueben, the ground keeper, says that more men are playing this year than any previous year. A number of new members have been admitted to the club's roster this season and several of them give promise of clauming leading positions in tennis circles. New Faces Frank Bartleson, Ray Smith, M. R. Gohen,Q. D. Gibbs, Charles Layna, Sternitzke and Glen Raymond are amog the new faces. Sam McGill is back from Arkansas and is preparing himself for any in vasiona and attacks on his position as one of the big four of the club. Roy Griffin, McGill a doubles partner of last year, is going better than ever and they will give the champions, Fewel and Babb more exciting time this year than they have ever had. Rebt and Rollo Fewel have not been playing this season, but they expect to start in time to defend their title in the city tournament to be held the first week in September. Howell Parkes is forced to stay out at the al nmne this year on account of a Aislechted spine and shoulder he suffered near the close of last season The principal contenders for rank ing among the Big Ten are Layng, Frank Bartleson, Sternitzke, and March, the southpaw of the club. March In Ninth Place March is now wositing in ninth place but he will have to put up some game again at the others to keep from be ing shoved out. Joe HIM is holding on to one pions but he pot a shaky there, with the new men coming up the line from the bottom. , McWilliams, Graham Moore, and Francis Stewart are not likely to be displaced but Morris vans has been playing golf so much of late he may lose his prestige as the champion heavy of the city. There 's no danger of Hugh Ricketts being displaced either. He covers more ground and is more accurate with his trick serves than ever. ‘With nearly 60 members, 40 of wig are quite active players, the Muskogee association in perhaps the Intent club exclusively devoted to tennis in the southwest.
