SECURE MODERN STILL IN OPERATION AT GREY BULL.TWO MEN* WERE APPREHENDEDBast Equipped Still Yet Hound By Officers In Tkis County Taken \ Monday Sight.i jot**. ...........i *Sheriff Wickwire and Under Sheriff 1 Ed Dawson, assisted by Night Marshal Ernest Caldwell of Grey-bull, Monday night raided the old Thornton property in the north part of Greybull under a search warrant secured from Justice J, R. Bon-well, and found one of the most modern stills ever used for moonshine j purposes, together with three barrels of mash and other essentials to the manufacture of moonshine. The men, Joe Brooks and Jack McCuskle, were in charge of the operations, and they were arrested and brought to the county jail and the following day appeared before Judge Metz in district eourt and entered pleas of guilty, sentence having not yet been made by the court. Both of the men are blolermakers. Brooks stated to the court that a man who had been operating the still turned It over to thepi a short time before and they had but started up and the still had been in operation but a short time when the officers artved. Brooks had been working at his trade and had been in Greybull eeven weeks. Me-Causkle had not been employed since coming to town, although both were members of the boilermakers union. The outfit was capable of turning out a large quantity of liquor and had the officers not received a tip as to the illicit operations commenced the moonshine thirsty in Greybull wouldP * - I* * * r* mno doubt soon have been supplied In quantity.Judge Metz has deferred sentenceuntil the record of the two men can_be looked into.•Sheriff Wickwire fa making a reputation for handling the illicit still operations in this county equal to any in the state and bootleggers will soon hesitate to attempt the manu-' Jacture of liquor in our sheriff’s Jurisdiction.
