DEATH OF A PIONEER.Peter Ahlstrom Passes Away After a Long Illness.Peter Ablstrom, one of the pioneers of Sanpete comity. died at his home in this city 011 Kriday evening, June 12-tlj, in the tkith year of hie age. The deceased suffered a Stroke of paralysis about four years nglt;, since which time lie has hewn an invalid, the irnmediate cause of death being Height's disease of the kidneys.Peter Ahlstrom was born in Mahno, Sweden, April Jo, 18J5, and emigrated to I tali in 1859, being among the first settlers of F, ihraim. The trip from Council B ulfs to Salt Lake was made by ox team. Mr. Ahlstrom am! his wifewalking most of the distance and carrying their firstborn child in their arms. This child is John Ahlstrom, oneof the m esoni comityI Jcommissioners of Garfield county.*•Mr. Ahlstrom was a carpenter by trade and worked throughout the building of the Mar ti Temple, as Well as doing carpenter work in the St. George Temple.Deceased was the Father of 2\ children, of whom 1 are living. Several of his sons are residents of Tropic. I tah, of which town theywere the founders. Among other children living a wav from Manti are Mrs. J. G. \\ eaver of Salt.
