That is the date of the Law renceville municipal airport sports car race . . . one of the major summer racing events. John Kilborn, Decatur automo bile dealer and sports car owner driver, said the entry list would top 150 before the deadline. Many of the outstanding driv ers of the country will appear in the program that gets underway at 9:30 a. m. CST. The field will be made up of M amateur drivers in Jaguars, Fer on MGs and many other foreign e Kilborn said the course would — speeds up to 150 miles to age in the straightaways, corners and tight curves heep skill of the veteran amateurs who have competed in races across the nation. One feature of the program will be a race for women over the short but tricky course. An added attrac tion will be display of old cars and non-competing sports car races. There will be five races for the cars beginning at 9:30 a. m. The third race will open the afternoon pogram at 1:30. Kilborn said the admission price is a dollar for adults and fifty cents for children. The ticket will admit the holder to bleacher seats on a first-come, first served basis. The Lawrenceville race replaces the Chanute Field race of past years.
