when health permitted. Eloquent In prayer, cordial In friendship, the head of his household in conducting worship we shall ever cherish his memory and emulate the good in his example. A long illness and decline has beeu cheered by his trust in God. the prayers at his bedside, the Scritpurc* verses, the kindness of many friends, the tokens of love In flowers and visits, and the presence of his devoted wife and daughters. The liuneral services were held from his late residence and the Presbyterian church on Saturday, June 12, conducted by his pastor. Rev. W. H. Ensign, assisted by Rev. C. G. Fort of the M. E. church. It was his desire that the services be not on the Sabbath, which he regarded as a day of worship. He planned most of the details of the funeral. Among his last wo/ds were “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. and The Lord is with me. xx
