OclrKatffi Fleet lt;nl From This District in tin* Omaha Contention.Tin* People's Party people of the Seventh congressional district mot in the court house yesterday morning (8th inst.)There were sixty-one present,I delegates and spectators.Mr. il. 1. Hutchison, of Floyd, occupied the chair. There was considerable discussion and arranging of preliminaries.The object of the meeting was to elect four delegates to the national convention at Omaha, and to perfect the organization of the congressional executive committee.This committee will meet at Cartersville some time in the early fall. The exact date has not as y**t been selected, but it is understood that it will bo very late.There w as some further arranging of preliminaries and then the meeting adjourned until 12 m.Shortly ofter 12 o’clock the meeting re-convened to elect delegates to the Omaha national convention, which meets on the 4th of July.A call of the roll showed that all of the thirteen counties in the Seventh were represented.The election resulted in the choosing of Messrs. S. T. W hat-ley, Miller Wright, C. A. Mann, Davis and Cheney,Upon motion the delegates from the state at largo, suggested by the People’s party paper, wore unanimously elected: W. L. Peek, of Rockdale county; C. C. Post, of Fulton; J. N. Twittoy, of Jackson county; W. T. Christopher, of Macon county; C. H. Ellington, of McPuffee county; J. H. Turner, of Troup county; J. L. Hlance, of Polk county and M. 1. lllauce, of Columbia county
