A type foundry in St. Paul has lately furnished the types for the Framvavi, an Iceland newspaper, to be published in the Icelandic colony at Keewatin, on the Red River, in British territory, about sixty* miles from Fort Garry. This will be the first newspaper publisher on. the American continent n the Icelandic language. The prep ration of the types required the greatest care. They are in the Roman alphabet, but with a great many peculiarities in regard to accentuation, and are of a very antiquated form. The Icelandic language is some* thing like the Norwegian language as it was spoken about 1,000 years ago.
