From the Kldora (Iowa) Sentinel May 81.Last week it came to the knowledge of a man In Xenia that a villain, by the name of Barton Meeks, had sedvced his daughter, who was only fifteen years old. Stung to madness by the intelligence, he immediately seized a shot gun, and, proceeding to the house of the seducer, called him out of doors, telling him that the matter must now be settled, and, aiming at him, the gun failed to go off for lack of a cap. Up-on this the villain Meeks seized the muxle of the gun in his hand, and a personal melee began. The injured father made out to cock the other barrel of his gun, and blazed away at the scoundrel, taking off the first joint of one of his fingers. Here, we understand, the affair terminated as to these two. Soon a meeting of citizens, who had been apprised of the truth, sent one of their number to notify the brutal destroyer of this young girl to virtue that he must leave the plaoe at onoe, or take the consequences which an outraged community would see fit to mete oit to him. The wretch has left, it is mid, bavin* started towards Pike* Peak.
