Mrs. Betty Jacobson of At lanta has been named chair man of the Atlanta Jewish Wel fare Federation's Community Calendar. The Calendar, which serves as a clearing house in the preparation and planning for the club year of the Jewish com munity, is be ginning its 25th year this month. Each Jewish organization in Atlanta, according to Mrs. Jacobson, is asked to participate so the many activities and meet ing dates can be scheduled with a minimum of conflict. The new chairman said re quests for scheduling informa tion were sent to the Jewish or ganizations in advance for a June 15 meeting of presidents of women’s organizations. Mrs. Jacobson has just com pleted two years of service as a vice president of the Federa tion’s Year Round Women’s Division, serving as co-chairman of the Women's Division Cam paign. She previously has served as an officer of the Temple Sister hood, Branches, and the Na tional Council of Jewish Wo men. Her most recent appoint ment is to the board of the Na tional Women's Division, Unit ed Jewish Appeal. “GATE OF FREEDOM” pin is presented by Dr. William E. Schatten, Atlanta Israel Bond chairman, to Mrs. Marvin Shoob at a reception at her home. This pin will be given to members of the Israel Bond Host Com mittee, for their efforts in behalf of the 1973 Atlanta Israel Dinner of State. The annual event will take place on Tuesday, June 19, at the Regen cy Hyatt House and will honor Georgia Gov. Jimmy Carter, Israel Am bassador to the United States Simcha Dinitz will be the guest speaker and lead in the tribute to Gov. Carter.
