FORESTRY WORKERS! TO RECEIVE FIRE -TRAINING NEXT WEEK ;Beginning Monday, June 18, an j all-week school will be conducted i by personnel of the Beaverhead ■ Natioal forest for the control and 1rfighting of forest fires, Supervisor W. W. Wetzel has announc-ed. At least 50 men will attend ( the school from Beaverhead and j Madison counties. * 1They will be billetted at the ! former C. C. C. camp on Birch 1 creek where all classes will be ( held. The men will spend the en- 5 tire week at the camp. Courses 1 will be conducted by Mr. Wetzel, H. H. Hendron and Ray Tennant of the local forestry office. Mr. Wicklund of the Missoula office will demonstrate the use of bulldozers in building fire lines and use of the Bosworth fire trencher. Clyde Blake of the regional office will show moving pictures each evening on special fire training matters, and Ralph Spence will I give instructions on the use of Army and Navy personnel in forest fires should an emergency occur that would necessitate their . use. . . - - , . .. ,The classes will cover the following subjects: Large fire -.rgan-ization, fire camp management, the use of fire line building equipment, the use of water equipment, responsibilities and duties of overhead' positions in the fire program, and the use of airplanes for detection.
