Bates, of Cornell Uni versity, authority on Indian folk lcre, was guest speaker last evening at the June meeting of the Community Garden Club at which M’\ and Mrs. William H. Purple, of the Lafayette Highway, were hosts. Dr. Eates gave an interesting and informative address on Flowers andInjuns of Bare Hill.”Dr. Lot D. Sutherland spoke briefly, giving hints on rose culture and Mr. Purple on peonies and poppies. Refreshments were served to 40 members and eight guests by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. George Rouse, Mrs. Anson Gage and Mrs. Converse McMillan. The next meeting. July 12. will be with Mrs. Ca’--lcuigh Buck on the West Lake road Preceding the meeting, Mr. and Mrs. Purple entertained Dr. and Mrs. Bates at dinner.Y.-IP
