ouuuruij tn 19 luiMUJiiK, ut-ari miniNo Word From ArcticExplorers in Two YearsNearly two years has elapsed since word was received from a small band of Arctic explorers who are supposed to be marooned on Wrangell island, 110 miles north of the coast of Siberia. The party numbers only four and Is headed hy Lome Knight, a member of the .Stefansson expedition of 1915-10. The last word from the party was a letter written on September IB, 1021, and received by J. I. Knight of McMinnville, Ore., father of Lorne Knight. In the same mail Knight sent out a proclamation declaring Wrangell island to be the property of the British government, the expedition being under Canadian auspices. Last summer the schooner Teddy Bear sailed from Nome to bring off the party of adventurers, but adverse conditions prevented a landing. They are doubtless short of supplies and what their fate has been during the dread Arctic winters may only be conjectured. Another attempt to rescue them will be made this summer and if It fails the party will he in desperate strIts. Knight on the Stefansson expedition approached to within 460 miles of the pole.
