e.eDISCOVERS POND NET.Hume Warden at Dubuque-Stacs Evidence of E;nv Violation.Dubuque, .Tune J2.—Deputy Game Warden J3armeier made a capture on Saturday of much interest to the amateur sportsmen of this locality. While comine to Dubuque -on the train, he noticed a miJe. and a half south of Massey indications of a seine heme set out in the timber which was full of water. On arriving here he engaged a launch amV securing the assistance of Henry Gengler and Deputy Sheriff Norton returned to the place and discovered a seine about 000 feet Jong stretched in the slough in the timber in such a manner that the fish could not get back to the river, it was so arranged that the fish were lead into a pocket from which they could not escape,. The? game warden found this pocket so full of fish it was too heavy for him and his assistants to raise it. and they had to cut it in sections and allowed the iish to escape. They then destroyed the entire seine, which was known as a pond net.
