A Dakota Timber Culture Entry.The actingcommifiioncr of the general land office to-day renderod a decision in tbo con-tostod land oaso of Buoll against Conuelly and Ayers, involving ono of the so-called fraudulent Cameron Umber culture entries in the Huron, Dak., land district The decision can-cels the entry of Ayers, on the groun that at the time his entry was made the previous contest of Buoll against Connelly was pending, and awards the lands to BuelL In roviewiug tho case, tho acting oommiesionor says:It appears from the cvidenco taken at the trial in November, 1881, that Connolly had In no particular complied with the law. and this he virtually admits by filing hia relinqulabraont of the entry dated Jaly 10, 1880; bat I also fiud that long prior tothat (late Connelly had relinquished bis entry, to wit, August 2. 1979, tho execution of which is attested by William H. Davenport aud George Randall This relinquishment it executed on the back of tho duDltcate receipt and only ten days after date of entry. Ttie relinquishment of July 10. 1880, la executed npou a separate printed sheet, which is pasted on the back of the duplicate receipt, thus hldiug the first relinquishment from sight, tho existence of which was ascertained by soaking tho duplicate receipt and second relinquishment iu water, and they came apart. Mr. Ayers, in his contest affidavit, dared January 3. 1883, swears positively that Connelly had failed to comply with the law in onv particular, and that this entry is one of a serioa of entries made by John D. Cameron which are all notoriously fraudulent and illegal It is conceded by both Mr. Buell and Mr. Ayers, and the testimony and relinqulihmonU establish the fact that Connelly’s entry was fraudulent and Illegal and that be did not comply with the law. Hia entry is accordingly canceled.An appoal will bo made by Mr. Ayers to tho secretary of the interior.
