Y OU'VE done a swell job. Free Enterprise! I know by experience. You see, I represent America's business managed electric companies. They are far ahead of the whole world in the wide distribution of cheap electricity. They have made electricity in America a partner in business and living with practically everyone.The Carolinas are one small bul impressive examole. I was brought into these two Southern states in 1892 bv local people who believed in the future of electric power. My services were new then. Few understood me. But those local neoole had vision and weren't held vn in their efforts to out me to work. They had that privileae under the American system of free enterprise.Others could have promoted electricity here in those early days. Fven the government had a chance. But the peonle of America r'tefnrrod the bee enterprise method. I, for one, feel they were fully justified inthat faith, because I developed faster under the American system. In most countries where electricity was developed by governments, fewer peode even today enioy its benefits.
