Was the Social at F. W. Reinecke’s Last Evening. The home of F. W. Reinecke on Wayne street was the scene of one of the most successful socials of the sea son last evening. On this occasion the Ladies’ Aid so ciety of St. John’s Lutheran gave one of their dime receptions and the larg est number of people that ever attend ed their society was present. The grounds were brilliantly illum inated with jack ’o lanterns, but ow ing to the light shower in the afternoon the refreshments were served on doors. Ice cream and strawberries were served on prettily appointed tables, which were handsomely decorated with flowers. One of the features of the evening was the rendition of several choice sel ections of music by the children’s choirs which was under the direction of Prof. Ziegle. ‘they cheerfully respond to en cores. As a result, the treasury fund will be increased to the extent of twenty eight dollars. The ladies desire to extend their many thanks to their friends for their patronage last evening. The Young Ladies’ society of this church will probably give a social some time in July.
