The Bridge Prospect Causing Increased Operations. A Big Sale of Land to Be Laid Off in City Lots. _ The Lepa@rn has recently referred to the increasing boom in the real estate market at New Albany. There can be no question that this increased demand for city prop erty is caused by the present flattering prospects for the speedy resumption of work on the bridge over the Ohio between this city and Louisville and the almost as sured certainty of the speedy completion of this great and much needed structure. Recent heavy real estate transactions have been made here, one of which, in particular, indicates that the Vice Presi dent of the ‘Bridge Company, Mr. Morris McDonald, has great faith in the success of the Bridge project. Today the papers were made for the transfer to him of seventy acres of land in the eastern and northeas t suburb of the city. This land is known #8 a part of the old Korb farm, and its wes tern line runs to Silver street, and its northern line to the old Hedden farm, near the southeast end of the Fair Ground. The price paid by Mr. McDonald for this seventy acres was $22,500. It was purchased of parties at Louisville. The land is beautifully located and well adapted for building sites. Ekin Avenue, Culbertson Avenue, Shelby, Beeler and Locust streets extended will run east and went through it. It is said,to be the pur pose of Mr. McDonald to plat this ground and lay it off into city lots. There is a strong belief that the building of the bridge would create an immediate and active de mand for all vacant real estate in the east ern and northeastern parts of the city. The purchase of Mr.McDonald is certain ly significant that the prospects of the bridge were never so good as at present. The negotiations for this extensive trans action were conducted by Mr. Andros Hun dlman with great skill, and the consum mation of the purchase is quite a feather in his cap. Today Mr. McDonald had an offer for sixteen acres of his purchase by a real estate operator, who said he would re gard the land good for $1,000 per acre in the near future, if cut up into lots and acre blocks. The sale is one of the largest made in this city for a long time.
