Fur the Standard.ROCKINGHAM COUNTY.On Tuesday, the 29th day of May, (beingCourt week,) at one of the largest meetings of the Democracy that was ever held in the county of Rockingham, on motion of the Hon. A. M. Scales, Hugh K. Reid, Esq., was called to the chair.The chairman announced that the meeting would first hear from those gentlemen who expected to be candidates for the ensuing General Assembly.Gen. F. L. Simpson, (who represented the county at the last session in the House of Commons,) announced himself as a candidate for the Senate. No opposition.Thomas Sldde and Joseph H. Cardwell aTe the candidates, without opposition, for the House of Commons.
