Alfonso J. D’ApiceAlfonso J. D’Apice, a 27-yearresident of South Chicago Heights, formerly of Chicago Heights, and retired member of the South Chicago Heights Fire Department, died Thursday, June 9, at Illinois Veterans Administration Home, Manteno.Services will be a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Monday at St. Liborius Catholic Church, Steger, with the Rev. Joseph M. Burns of-Mr. D’Apice was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Chicago Heights.He was a retired shipping foreman at Stauffer Chemical Co., Chicago Heights; a member of St. Liborius Catholic Church; former member and usher at St. Rocco Catholic Church, former treasurer of the Holy Name Society and member of the Mount Carmel Club; member and past commander of the Chicago Heights American Legion Post 131; a member of Catholic War Veterans Chicago Heights Memorial Post 1060, Veterans of Foreign Wars Chicago Heights Post 2825, Crete F-Men, and the Crete Amvets; a veteran of World War II.He is survived by his wife, Antoinette (nee Sanfratello); a daughter, Toni at home; four sisters, Dolly D’Apice, Diane Cameli and Jessie Pryszcz, all of Chicago Heights, and Dolores Gorgowski of Lansing; three brothers, Andrew, Elmer and James, all of Chicago Heights; and two grandchildren, Katrina Camilleri of South Chicago Heights and Tommaso Camilleri, a U.S. Marine stationed in Millington, Tenn.Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.ficiating.
