Judge William M. McMahon, long•a leader of the Lake county barand leading* citizen of Hammond,was buried yesterday afternoon, inRidgelawn cemetery after one of -the most impressive funeral services held in the region in many years.Leaders from all walks of life, bar associates, professional men— all came to pay final tribute to a man who was held in high esteem by all who knew him. Tears dripped from the eyes of many a friend as the Rev. Thomas Hueston, pastor of the Pine Street Prsebyterian church and close personal friend of Judge McMahon’s, spoke the last consoling words over the grave.The services proper \vcre held from the family home at 1133 South Hohman street.Pall bearers were Judge Virgil Whitaker, Attorneys Frank Galvin, Oscar Haney, Emil Bauer, John Sawyer and Perry Chapin, all of them close personal friends of the deceased. All members of the Lake county Bar association were made honorary pall bearers. Lake county courts paid high and fitting tribute by suspending all activity for the entire day.
